For those of you who missed the opportunity to meet with Minister Iain Black on Friday, October 2, 2009, he spent a significant amount of time clarifying HST. The good news is that he has promised to return to continue the conversation! I highly recommend attendance. It was very informative.

I agree with Monica's comments. The discussion with Minister Iain Black was excellent and his offer to return to continue Q&A with FWE members is another important 'sounding board' opportunity that shouldn't be missed.

It's not great news for my business. Since we're in custom book publishing and books have always been PST exempt, it now means that we have to add a new tax to our projects. And since we've never paid PST due to our exemption, there is no cost savings to pass on to our clients.

I'm not very happy about it. All my services just went up 7%, in the eyes of clients.
