Lisa Niemetscheck

General Manager (On Maternity Leave)

In her role as General Manager of FWE – a charity she has been with for the last five years – Lisa is obsessed with using limited resources to maximize impact for women entrepreneurs across Canada. Reporting to the FWE Board, she is responsible for all aspects of FWE – from annual planning, to operations, programming, development, team building, marketing and more. She works directly with sponsors, the entrepreneurial community and other organizations to energize, educate, mentor and connect women entrepreneurs to be wildly successful, promoting strong economies and thriving communities.

Outside of FWE, Lisa is the Co-Chair of WEB Alliance of Women’s Business Networks and has served as a Judge of the Prix Palme Bleue award for the Chambre de Commerce Francophone de Vancouver for the past several years. Prior to joining FWE, she held management roles in marketing at HSBC in Toronto.

Lisa was recently awarded Top Forty under 40 by Business in Vancouver.



Larkin MacKenzie-Ast

Interim General Manager

Joining as the Interim General Manager during Lisa’s maternity leave, Larkin brings an impressive breadth of experience to the FWE community. A previous entrepreneur herself, she has spent the majority of her career in the Premier’s Vancouver Office as the Manager of the Board Resourcing and Development Office. Before joining FWE, Larkin was the Director, HR, Corporate Services at Canfor. With her own learnings from her time as an entrepreneur and the knowledge that she has gained with respect to building and growing a team, she is excited to work with FWE to tackle new challenges and support more women entrepreneurs from across BC and the country.

A governance junkie, Larkin sits on the BC Innovation Council and is a Director of the HR MacMillan Space Centre, where she chairs the Governance Committee. She also donates her time as a Knowledge Philanthropist with Vantage Point, and spent 3 years as a Co-Chair on the Minerva Foundation of BC’s All About Girlfriends Gala Committee.

Program Manager 

Working with entrepreneurs since graduating with a B.A. from UBC, Michelle joined FWE with an enthusiasm and excitement to support and empower women entrepreneurs across Canada. Her previous work experience in e-commerce, the tech industry, and event planning have proved valuable in her role as Program Manager. Michelle’s responsibilities include Program and Event Planning, Community Support, Operations and Communications.




Mélodie Gingras

Mentor Program Manager 

With a B.A. in Communications and MBA in Business Management, Melodie is passionate about helping women entrepreneurs take their business to the next level. As the Mentor Program Manager for FWE, she’s able to achieve that goal by connecting them with experienced business leaders and successful entrepreneurs. Her previous work experience in marketing, event management, and relationship development have proved valuable to her role at FWE.

Melodie believes that learning never stops for entrepreneurs (and everyone else!), and is excited to provide them every day with the tools + expertise needed to elevate their business.
